Who We Are
Raul Valdez
Founder - Registered Nurse
Raul holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Sul Ross State University International and has over 12 years bedside nursing experience, and as a nursing educator. His professional journey includes nursing knowledge in medical-surgical, intensive care, emergency care, nursing educator and healthcare simulation.
He is certified as a Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist (CHSOS) which helps provide quality nursing experiences as an educator, holds Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications. He also is an American Heart Association CPR Instructor.
Beyond his current clinical and educational roles, Raul is a family man at heart. He cherishes time spent at home with his family and kids. A lifelong learner, Raul’s curiosity drives him to continually explore and embrace new knowledge, ensuring he remains at the forefront of nursing education and practice.
His commitment to well-being extends beyond his professional life. He is an avid fitness enthusiast who enjoys staying active through regular exercise and running, embodying the vitality he brings to every aspect of his life.
Cynthia Castillo
Founder - Registered Nurse
Cindy is a highly skilled and dedicated registered nurse with over 20-years of experience in the healthcare industry. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Forensics from Texas A&M University. Throughout her career, Cindy has developed expertise in critical care, working in various settings such as the emergency department, medical-surgical unit, day surgery, hospice, and as a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE).
In addition to her clinical experience, Cindy has spent over five years as a clinical professor at Southwest Texas College in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program, where she educates and mentors future nurses. Currently, she continues to serve the community as an ER nurse, SANE nurse, and nursing educator. Her leadership skills are also reflected in her role as the Secretary for the Uvalde Sexual Assault Response Team.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cindy is deeply committed to health and fitness, for 40 years. She is a certified CrossFit coach at Uvalde CrossFit and avid runner, where she inspires and motivates others to lead healthier lives.
